First of all, I gotta say that this song is amazing. You did a fantastic job!
After my first listen I noticed some things that could be improved. I feel like you brought in the intensity of the song a bit too early, referring to the intro. Instead of starting with those drums, you could've copied the chords & the ambience from the chorus and added some lowpass and some more reverb to it, and then brought in the drums after a couple bars, kind of like how it is in Blinding Lights by The Weeknd.

At 00:06, the drums along with the melodies and the bass, really sounds awesome together. Not much I can say about it to be honest. You did a great job with 'em!

The vocals at 00:31 are siiick! I love the way you used autotune. You didn't use too much, nor too little, it's really just perfect. At 00:55 when the vocals are playing along with the other instruments, I sometimes find it hard to hear exactly what you're singing, and it might be because of all of the effects on the vocals. It could also be that the other instruments are overpowering the vocals. So maybe try either boosting the volume of the vocals, or adding some more saturation, or reducing the amount of reverb on them.
The lyrics overall are really nice. All of the words you used really glued well together and it's not complete bullcrap like the hiphop songs these days where most of it rarely makes sense lol.

I'd love to see a little bit of a change in the second drop. Maybe a change in the melodies, a change of rythm, or maybe remove/bring in a new sound. It doesn't get overly repetitive, but since you did such a great job with this song there's not much I can say, so I have to be nitpicky lol.

But yeah man, overall this is superb! You should take advantage over your own voice more often, because there are not many newgrounders who use vocals in their music, which makes you stand out which is a huge plus. Good job man, you smashed it with this one!

Quarl responds:

Thank you Benji, the five stars you have given me will help me get through this winter. I will air seal them, toss them in a freezer, and survive off their sustenance when it becomes too dangerous to make the long trek through snow and forest back to civilization. While everyone one else is buying fresh stars from the local market, I will have the stars you have given me. I will thaw them out and mix them into my scrambled eggs. I will turn to my fiance and say "Benji-G gave us these stars. We owe him our lives..."

You have no idea how much this means to me.

woah this is sick!

This is really nice! I think you did a great job with the overall mood in this one. I love the choice of instruments, as they really work well together to create a really nice atmosphere.
I also love how there's always something new in each part, which keeps my interest all the way to the end. Also, 2:37 is absolutely fantastic. The way those chords come in is just wonderful. It sounds very rich.
The only thing I could see being improved are the low piano chords. Putting chords that low makes it sound kinda muddy. That's just my opinion though, not necessarily a bad thing.
I think you did a really great job with this one! Keep it up man! :]

Tangerine responds:

Hey, I never saw this! Sorry for responding so awfully late!

Listening to this now, I agree that the low chords are kind of muddy; however, at the time, I was trying to make the entire song sound moderately dark and I think the low notes sort of work with that. I am really tempted to redo this and make it even better, but I feel that it would be beating it into the ground a little.

Thank you for the comment!

Woah, this is awesome. I love that intro with new instruments coming in one by one like that.
The kick which comes in at 00:40 could be turned up a little bit because it's kinda quiet (imo).
You also have the same melody throughout the whole song, which isn't necessarily a bad thing to have, but it would be cool to see some changes in the melody and chords in the second half of the song, because it does get kinda repetitive.
Another thing, imo, an extra ten seconds to wind it down wouldn't hurt, or to maybe offer the ending a little more finality.
But yeah, this song is sick and I love the instruments and the overall vibe. Good luck in the contest! :]
